Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement on November 16, 2010, and royal fans are now spotting a sweet moment between the pair on the historic day
One read: “Catherine was shaking so bad they could not get a good photo of the ring so William held her hand.” “The poor girl (she was so young back then),” responded another.
In an ITV interview following their engagement, William shared that he proposed in Kenya during a quiet getaway with friends. “We had a little private time away together with some friends and I just decided that it was the right time really,” he explained.
“We’d been talking about marriage for a while, so it wasn’t a massively big surprise, but I took her up somewhere nice in Kenya and proposed.”
“It was very romantic,” Kate added. “And you said yes, obviously?” asked the interview, to which Kate confirmed: “Of course, yes.”
She confessed the proposal caught her by surprise, saying: “We were out there with friends and things, so I really didn’t expect it at all,” before describing the experience as a “total shock.”
