Prince Archie, 5 and Princess Lilibeth, 3 are about to get a very special gift, and mom Meghan Markle is exceedingly happy about it. The Duchess of Sussex is currently at the Invictus Games in Vancouver with her husband Prince Harry, and they were given the most thoughtful presents from Team Nigeria.
The athletes reportedly gifted the family of four with matching green jerseys, each personalized with their names on the back.
“We did one for [Prince Harry] and one for [Markle] and for the kids,” Nigerian team manager Derrick Cobbannah told People. “They said they would be excited to have them.”
And she apparently felt the same way. “She was very, very excited,” Cobbannah continued.
We have no doubt that Markle is correct about her young ins jumping for joy over these jerseys. Kids get [rightfully] excited when they get a custom keychain. So to get a personalized jersey from the elite athletes and staff of Team Nigeria is going to be exceptionally thrilling.
We probably won’t see any pictures of the young royals rocking their new merch (Markle and Prince Harry are notoriously private when it comes to their kids’ faces), but we bet they will proudly rock them around their Montecito home.
The Sussexes seem to have an affinity for custom clothing. Earlier this month, Markle shared a heartwarming selfie video about how she met a devastated teen who lost her Billie Eilish T-shirt when the Los Angeles wildfires tragically burned her house to the ground. With the help of her famous friends, Markle was able to get a message to Eilish who then sent a treasure trove of autographed merch for the teen.
In the clip, Markle is wearing a personalized sweatshirt with “Archie & Lili” embroidered in script along the collar. It’s clear the mom of two always has her kiddos literally close to her heart and on her mind. And is it really any wonder? Markle has been outspoken about her love for her kids and for motherhood.
“I’ve been a waitress, an actress, a princess, a Duchess … and the most important title I’ll ever have is mom,” Markle told Oprah in 2021.
