Even though Prince William and Prince Harry aren’t Hollywood celebrities, they are certainly A-list stars. Anytime they accept an invitation to a major event, it’s headline news. Still, they are probably breathing a sigh of relief for declining to attend this controversial public figure’s parties over the years.
Combs, who was recently charged with a three-count indictment for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, allegedly adored them so much that he even had framed snapshots of the brothers in his New York City apartment — not weird at all. “He thought of himself as a king so it makes perfect sense that he would like to have two princes in his entourage,” Combs’ former employee said. The good news is that Harry and William stayed far away from the music producer’s parties.
In 2011, Combs admitted on The Graham Norton Show that he tried to entice the royal siblings to his parties when they were “young bucks.” This was just ahead of William’s wedding to Kate Middleton, so Norton joked, “Don’t ruin our royal wedding for us.”
Combs promised, “Trust me, they’re off the list.”
Christopher Andersen, author of The King: The Life of Charles III, told Fox News Digital that Combs loved that “both princes made plenty of headlines with their party animal antics at nightclubs in and around London.” When William started to settle down with Kate, “Diddy got the hint and stopped inviting them altogether.” The royal expert believes that the two men stayed out of Combs’ dark shadow for one reason only. “Thanks to their palace handlers, they dodged a bullet there,” he noted.
Combs first met Prince Harry and Prince William backstage at a benefit concert for Princess Diana in 2007. They were photographed together for that one-time meeting, but they reportedly never crossed paths again. Everyone is breathing a sigh of relief that this royal scandal never had the opportunity to get off the ground.
